The Headset Allstar Node

The simplest way to put together your own Allstar node.

This Allstar node is as easy as it gets!

Hardware setup.

  1. Buy a MPOW PA071A headset/mike as shown in the photo.

  2. Plug it into one of your Raspberry Pi USB sockets

That is all there is to it, that’s all you need as this particular headset actually contains a CM108 sound fob in its inline control unit. And the volume down button on the headset control functions as a PTT button. This headset is cheap to buy, and the sound quality on the operational nodes is outstanding, I have one running at my QTH right now.

Software Setup.

  1. Refer to the ” How to set up Hamvoip software for your Allstar node ” section of this site. Here you will learn how to prepare your SD card, get your node number, and then install the Hamvoip software to get your node up and running. LINK

How To Control Your Node.

  1. Install the Node Remote app on your smartphone. Refer to my ” A Companion App For Your Allstar Node ” section on this site. LINK
